ROCK HILL ? The Rock Hill Fire Department responded to a house fire that damaged property and contents of a home on Pecan Circle this morning, fire officials said.
The duplex at 1074 Pecan Circle suffered about $40,000 damage but there were no reports of injuries in the fire, which was ruled accidental, said Chief Rusty Myers, a spokesman for the department. The cause remains under investigation, Myers said.
The family, which was displaced, was not home at the time of the fire.
A pet dog died in the fire, Myers said.
The other part of the duplex had minor damage.
Rock Hill has had several large fires in recent weeks, including two large fires just a few hundred yards apart, although investigators have not said there is any link between any of the fires.
