School holds Fun Run at local orchard, next event tomorrow ...

Tuesday October 23, 2012

PUTNEY -- The Grammar School held its annual TGS Fun Run at Green Mountain Orchards on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Despite the damp weather, 59 runners from seven schools, including The Grammar School, Putney Central, Brattleboro Area Middle School, Academy School, Hilltop, Greenwood, and Reading had a great time racing through the orchard.

Runners and their families and coaches also enjoyed apples and cider donuts after the meet.

The next race, The Grammar School Invitational, will be held at 69 Hickory Ridge Road South, in Putney, on Wednesday for runners ages 6-14.

6-8 year olds run .5 mile, 9-11 year olds run a mile, and 12-14 year olds will run 1.5 miles. There will be ribbons for all racers and trophies for first place teams. Teams must have at least three runners per age group and gender to score. There also will be an untimed lollipop race for children five and under.

Please register today by emailing Mary or Deb, or call The Grammar School at 387-5364, ext. 102 or 107.
